From siloed reports to a single intelligence layer — without the guesswork. Moresand is one of the UK's largest independent travel agencies — flights, hotels, packaged holidays, cruises — operating at scale since 1987. The data was there. The strategy around it wasn't.

The Gap I found…

Sales, Marketing, and Finance were reading the same numbers differently. No shared definition of success. No unified KPIs. Reporting happened after decisions — not before them.

Three patterns were clear:

  • Data existed but wasn't operationalized. Pipeline and campaign metrics were tracked. Nobody was using them to trigger action.

  • Departments weren't aligned. Each team measured success differently. The result was noise, not direction.

  • Automation was untouched. Reporting was manual and slow. By the time insights surfaced, the window to act had already closed.

Research & Insights

I focused on how each department described what they needed to know—and where those answers were falling short.

Three things became obvious:

  • The questions weren't being defined. Dashboards were being built before anyone agreed on what they were supposed to answer.

  • Intelligence wasn't reaching decision-makers in usable form. Raw outputs were being handed up without translation. Executives were interpreting, not deciding.

  • There was no feedback loop. Campaigns ran. Numbers came in. Nothing fed back into the next decision in a structured way.

The Strategy I Architected

I came in before execution. My role was to define what needed to be known — and by whom.

I mapped the business questions each department actually needed answered. Built a shared KPI framework across Sales, Marketing, and Finance. Designed the automation logic that surfaced insights faster — without adding manual work.

Delivered in collaboration with a data engineering specialist handling technical pipeline execution.

Results

Unified KPI language adopted across three departments

Reporting shifted from reactive to predictive

Executive briefs moved from ad hoc to consistent cadence

Campaign adjustments started happening in real time—not in retrospect

The business stopped asking "what happened" and started asking "what's next."

Reflection

The most important work happened before anyone opened a tool. Defining the right questions is harder — and more valuable — than building the answers.

What I'd push further: tighter feedback loops between campaign data and creative decisions. The infrastructure was there. The habit wasn't built yet.
